The Start

How do you deal with your fears as a coach?

Just as with your clients, the thing that will get in the way for you as a coach is your fears.

That’s totally understandable, and totally OK.

If you didn’t have fears, you wouldn’t be doing something meaningful and worthwhile. The fears are a sign you’re putting yourself into uncertainty and are on an adventure worth having.

Welcome the fears, embrace them, but don’t listen to them. Let yourself feel the bodily feeling of the fears, without believing their narrative or giving in to their urges.

You’ll be afraid that you won’t be good at this. That you are charging too much and aren’t worth it. That you won’t get results.

That’s understandable, and totally OK. And btw, those are some of the same fears that your clients will be having — so really try to get to know them, because it will serve your clients.

Embrace the fear but don’t give into it. Give yourself compassion and encouragement. And remind yourself of why you’re doing this.
